Falling Corbel Repaired in Mandurah
When you’re a resident of a set of apartments, the last thing you’d expect is to be taking cover from building materials falling from the sky.
But this was the situation facing Eddie Ostler and his Stable Commercial team recently when a client rang to say that several large pieces of stone had fallen from a corbel in Mandurah.
“It’s dangerous. And needs to be fixed as soon as possible.”
“How high is it?” asked Ed.
“About 30 to 40 metres” replied the client.
Aware of the potential danger to residents, Eddie arranged to get an Elevated Working Platform (EWP) to the site that afternoon.
The first task was to refix the remaining corbel.
Having secured the site, a profile of the remaining corbel was taken, which was used to make a replacement section out of a composite material.
The following day, the new section was fitted, and the residents could resume their activities, safe from the potential threat of falling corbel.
